by posted 02/20/2020

PAL Soccer Program

San Jose PAL Soccer is a recreational soccer program for the boys and girls of San Jose from the ages 4 through 17.

San Jose PAL Soccer is comprised of 4 regional districts: Foothill, Cambrian, Willow Glen, and Rosegarden. The Foothill division is for families who live near PAL.

We are proud to present a recreational soccer program for children from our local communities to introduce them to the game of soccer and to teach the player the benefits of skills development, sportsmanship and the competitive spirit.  Teams are determined by the ages/birth dates of the players. We observe an age cut-off date of July 31st for 4- 17 year-olds. For the 2020 season, players born between the dates of June 1st, 2001 and July 31st, 2016 are eligible to play.

San Jose PAL youth soccer season 2020 sign-ups start in April and end in early August, or until teams have filled. Opening day for the 2020 fall season is August and will end in November. You can register your child online using your credit card or check with the San Jose PAL office for walk-up registration locations by individual districts.

We have partnered San Jose PAL with Santa Clara PAL and Milpitas PAL to create the Metro PAL Youth Soccer League (MPYSL) and provide a unified learning experience for over 1,100 children. Metro PAL is considered a recreational league, so there are no tryouts to cut players- all who sign up will play 50% of all games will be played on each district's home and 50% will be in the fields of the other districts.

Being that our league is comprised of parent volunteers, it is crucial for the success of our league that parents understand there is a high need for volunteers. During the registration process, you will be asked to volunteer for activities including a coach, team parent, field preparation, assistant coach, cleaned up.

Any player wishing to become a member of this organization shall rester seasonally for affiliation with one District ONLY.  A player cannot play on multiple teams with a district. To play, each candidate must:

  • Complete a Metro PAL player registration form
  • Submit upon initial registration proof of date of birth
  • Complete registration fees requirements according set forth by the District Commissioner

Metro PAL Youth Soccer League dues and fees for members shall be payable as of October 1st of each year and will be delinquent as of November 1st unless otherwise provided for by the Board of Directors.

No team or team shall be accepted while concurrently belonging to an established or organized league, except with the consent of the MYSL Board of Directors.

Registration Procedure: The year is defined as beginning January 1 and ending December 31 of the calendar year.

  • All players are required to submit properly completed Metro PAL Youth Soccer League Player Registration forms to their District.
  • Each team shall submit the required forms, including a list of players, to the District Commissioner who will forward them to the league with the fees which may be levied by the Board of Directors of this organization.
  • Each District Commissioner shall be responsible for ensuring proper registration of player, an affiliation of the teams, proper accountings of fiscal transactions, and accurate reporting to the Board of Directors of this organization. All district commissioners are required to have all their paperwork (rosters, registration forms, and fees paid) to the PAL office no later than the day set forth by the Director.
  • Each player must use his/her full first and last name on all registration materials.
  • Each team official (i.e. coach, assistant coach, manager) shall be listed on the team roster.
