PAL Soccer Program

San Jose PAL Soccer is a recreational soccer program for the boys and girls of San Jose from the ages 4 through 17. San Jose PAL Soccer is comprised of 4 regional districts: Foothill, Cambrian, Willow Glen, and Rosegarden. The Foothill division is for families who live near PAL.

We are proud to present a recreational soccer program for children from our local communities to introduce them to the game of soccer and to teach the player the benefits of skill development, sportsmanship and the competitive spirit. Teams are determined by the ages/birth dates of the players. We observe an age cut-off date of July 31st for 4-17 year-olds. For the 2020 season, players born between the dates of June 1st, 2003 and July 31st, 2017 are eligible to play.

SAN JOSE PAL youth Soccer season 2020 sign-ups start in April and end in early August, or until teams have filled. Opening day for the 2020 fall season is August  and will end on  November . You can register your child online using your credit card or check with the San Jose PAL office for walk-up registration locations by individual districts.

We have partnered San Jose PAL with Santa Clara PAL and Milpitas PAL to create the Metro PAL Youth Soccer League (MPYSL) and provide a unified learning experience for over 1,110 children. Metro PAL is considered a recreational league, so there are no tryouts to cut players - all who sign-up will play 50% of all games will be played on each district's home fields and 50% will be in the fields of the other districts.

Being that our League is comprised of parent volunteers, it is crucial for the success of our League that parents understand there is a high need for volunteers. During the registration process, you will be asked to volunteer for activities including coaching, registration, field preparation, team parent, refereeing, photo day, data entry, flyer distribution, and advertising.

Groups for this year season are as follow:

  • U6
  • U8
  • U10
  • U12
  • U14
  • U17

EOS for all age groups will be November  and  2021.

PAL Community

As you all know, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed a lot in our lives, and Metro PAL soccer is also a victim of it. Our PAL board has been meeting the past 3 months hoping that something would change to allow us to have a 2020 season, but unfortunately, it has not. Santa Clara County Dept. of Health continues to prohibit any close-contact sports. Their current guidelines do not allow for any outdoor sports unless all players can remain 6 feet apart. Therefore, there will not be a 2020 Fall PAL Soccer Season. In the meantime, please keep your young athletes active in any way you can, in the backyard or at the local park, and also make sure you practice protocol with the Santa Clara County Department. We hope to see you in 2021. PAL main priority is the safety of your families please keep safe and healthy.
